Documents
Upload, download and delete the applicant's files.
The Documents tab holds the applicant's files: their passport, visa, qualifications, English test results, signed forms, and anything else your organisation needs.
Uploading files
- Save the draft first. Until the application has been saved at least once, the upload area says Save draft to enable uploads. Moving to this tab usually saves it for you.
- Drag files onto the dashed area, or click it to choose files: Drop files here or click to select.
- Each file uploads straight away, and XPortal confirms it: Uploaded passport.pdf.
You can upload PDFs, images and Word documents (DOCX), up to 10 MB each. A larger file is refused with a message saying it's larger than 10MB. Shrink or split it and try again.
Working with uploaded files
Uploaded files are listed underneath, by File name. Each has two actions:
- Download: open or save a copy.
- Delete: remove it. XPortal asks you to confirm, because this cannot be undone.
After submission
Once the application is submitted, documents are read-only. The upload area says Documents are read-only, and files can no longer be added or deleted from the wizard. Make sure everything is uploaded before you submit.
Documents aren't checked before submission
The readiness bar doesn't check the Documents tab. XPortal will let you submit with no files at all. Check against your organisation's own list of required documents before submitting.
Cloning copies files
If an application is copied with Clone as draft, XPortal copies its files to the new draft too, where it can. If any file couldn't be copied, it tells you how many, so you can upload those again.
