Additional Info

Record whether the student has a disability and which qualifications they already hold.

The Additional Info tab asks two AVETMISS questions: whether the student has a disability, and which qualifications they have already completed. Each is a Yes / No / Not specified question, with a list to fill in when the answer is Yes.

Disability Information

Does the student have a disability, impairment or long-term condition? is required.

AnswerWhat happens
YesA list of areas appears. Tick every area that applies. At least one is required.
NoNothing more to do.
Not specifiedThe student chose not to say. Nothing more to do.

The areas are: Hearing/deaf, Physical, Intellectual, Learning, Mental illness, Acquired brain impairment, Vision, Medical condition, and Other.

If you change the answer from Yes to No or Not specified, the ticked areas are cleared.

Use the student's own answer

Record only what the student told you. This information is reported to the government, and it can also help your organisation plan support for the student.

Prior Educational Achievement

Has the student successfully completed any of the qualifications listed below? is required. It's about qualifications the student has finished, not ones they started.

AnswerWhat happens
YesA list of qualification levels appears. At least one is required.
NoNothing more to do.
Not specifiedThe student chose not to say. Nothing more to do.

When the answer is Yes, select ANY applicable qualifications and specify the recognition type for each. The qualification levels are:

  • Bachelor degree or higher degree
  • Advanced Diploma or Associate Degree
  • Diploma (or Associate Diploma)
  • Certificate IV (or Advanced Certificate/Technician)
  • Certificate III (or Trade Certificate)
  • Certificate II
  • Certificate I
  • Other education, including certificates or overseas qualifications not listed above

For each qualification the student holds, also say where it's recognised:

Recognition typeMeaning
AustralianAn Australian qualification.
Australian EquivalentAn overseas qualification recognised as equal to an Australian one.
InternationalAn overseas qualification that hasn't been recognised as an Australian equivalent.

A student can hold several. For example, an Australian Certificate III and an overseas Diploma.
